I’m going to be telling you where to apply for this work permit, what it entails, the eligibility criteria, and I’m also going to be talking about high-demand jobs in Ireland and their salary range. As a matter of fact, with this permit, you can earn up to €4,000 to €6,000 monthly. The minimum wage for these jobs is €44,000 annually, and you can go above that depending on your job, skills, and profession.

What is the Critical Skills Employment Permit (CSEP)?

Today we’re talking about the Critical Skills Employment Permit (CSEP) for Ireland. This permit has been designed to attract highly skilled professionals into sectors facing shortages in Ireland, such as IT, healthcare, engineering, finance, and many more. It offers a fast-track route to residency and family reunification. It is the fastest pathway into Ireland and it comes with so much amazing perks and benefits.

Like I said earlier, this is a free pathway into Ireland. Although it’s free, there’s a “but.” The “but” is that you have to get a job contract—an offer from a licensed employer or organization in Ireland. Another great benefit? There’s no IELTS involved in this. You don’t need to take an IELTS examination.

The Amazing Benefits of This Permit

What are the benefits of this permit and what does it entail?

  • Path to Residency: You’ll be on a fast track to getting your permanent residency (what we call the Stamp 4) within 2 years.
  • No Labour Market Test: The employer doesn’t need to first check in Ireland to see who they can hire before offering the job to international workers.
  • Immediate Family Reunification: Your spouse and dependents can move to Ireland with you right away.
  • Spouse Can Work: Your spouse will typically receive a Stamp 1G, which allows them to work in Ireland in any given occupation of their choice.
  • Fast Processing: The processing time for this work permit is typically between 3 to 15 days for a decision to be made on your visa.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the CSEP, there are a few key requirements:

  1. Your Job Must Be on the List: Your role must be on the Critical Skills Occupations List. This list includes a breakdown of all the occupational codes and job titles currently eligible. Occupations range from electrical and civil engineers to IT professionals, healthcare workers, and business professionals.
  2. Meet the Salary Threshold: The job offer you receive must meet the minimum salary threshold, which is €44,000 per year.

What About the Fees?

While the permit itself is sponsored, there is an administration fee of €1,000. However, it is stated that if your visa application is denied, 90% of that administration fee (€900) will be returned to you.

From my own observation, most employers and organizations pay this administration fee for the Critical Skills Employment Permit, especially for highly skilled professionals. They may sponsor you 100% to come and work for them.

Where Can You Apply for Jobs?

Now for the major focus: where can you find employers eligible and licensed to sponsor you under this pathway?

  • IrishJobs.ie: A highly recommended site with proven success. You can search for permanent roles and even upload your CV to be connected with potential job opportunities.
  • Indeed Ireland: Be specific and search for “Indeed Ireland” on Google. Use the search bar for terms like “Ireland visa sponsorship job” and leave the city/county open to see opportunities across the country.
  • EURES Jobs Ireland: This website is dedicated to helping applicants find jobs across Europe. You can filter it down to Ireland to see available opportunities.
  • ConstructionJobs.ie: Construction work is in high demand. If you are a civil engineer or construction worker, this site is for you. It lists jobs for site engineers, quantity surveyors, structural engineers, and more.
